Business and politics from around the world in one place — the wires, the big US and UK desks, and the regional papers that are closer to the story than a New York bureau: DW in Germany, CNA and the Straits Times in Singapore, SCMP and Xinhua on China, Nikkei on Asia, Buenos Aires Times on Latin America. Rebuilt once a day.

How sources were chosen

  • Wires first. Reuters, Bloomberg and the FT set the agenda and most other outlets are downstream of them.
  • Regional papers, not regional bureaus. For China, Singapore, Japan and India the local English-language paper is closer to the story.
  • Both sides of the China story. SCMP and Xinhua sit alongside Nikkei and Reuters, so it isn't read through a single lens. Xinhua and Global Times are state outlets — useful for what Beijing wants said, not as neutral reporting.
  • Central banks direct. Fed and ECB press feeds, with no journalist in between.

Nothing here is investment advice. This is a reading list assembled by a script. Headlines are the publisher's own and are not verified here; state-owned outlets are labelled but everything should be read with its source in mind.
